WHY PARTICIPATE

The course consists of 16 hours of applied theory: each hands-on activity is paired with technical explanations, allowing participants to fully understand the construction phases of CLT and glulam structures. The goal is to learn how to build in timber in a workmanlike manner. Recognize and avoid the most common on-site mistakes while discovering the best technical solutions to achieve long-lasting, high-quality results.

This course offers a unique opportunity to deepen your knowledge of both the theory and practice of timber construction, working on a full-scale mock-up at our HQs in the heart of the Alps, a region where timber building is rooted in tradition.

CONTENTS

During the training, we will assemble a full-scale section of a timber building, from the foundations to the roof structure. Practical activities will be supported by theoretical insights on the advantages of different connections, handling and installation methods, as well as the seismic and fire behavior of timber structures.
Particular attention will be dedicated to the hygrothermal performance of the building envelope and to the correct choice of sealing solutions, ensuring long-term durability and overall quality.

  • Handling and installation of structural timber elements
  • Traditional and innovative connection systems
  • Design of a durable and airtight building envelope
  • Fire behavior of timber structures

AUDIENCE

This course is especially suitable for those who want to:

  • deepen their technical knowledge of timber construction

  • train through a combined theoretical and practical approach

  • govern well both theory and practice in timber constructions

  • learn how to build structural and construction details in a workmanlike manner

Whether you're a designer, carpenter, construction company, building site supervisor or a technical salesman: this training is made for you!
